Chocolate Chip Coconut Cookies

Chocolate Chip Coconut Cookies

1/2 cup shortening
1/4 cup  margarine or butter 
3/4 cup brown sugar packed
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tbsp. milk
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup walnuts chopped small
1/2 cup flake coconut 
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Beat with electric mixer at medium 
speed, margarine, sugars, milk, vanilla in large bowl until 
creamy and well blended. Add egg and beat. Mix flour, salt, 
baking soda and cinnamon in another bowl and add this to sugar/
margarine mixture. Mix until blended. Stir in chocolate chips, 
nuts and coconut. Drop dough by 2 tbsp. each, about 3 inches 
apart, on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees 8-10 
minutes for chewy cookies, or 11-13 for crisp cookies. Cool 2 
minutes before removing from cookie sheet. Cool on rack. Makes 
3 dozen cookies.
