Streusel Cherry Apple Pie

Streusel Cherry Apple Pie

3/4 cup cane sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
3 small gala or fuji apples sliced
1-14 1/2 oz. can tart cherries drained
1 unbaked pie shell
In a saucepan, over medium-low heat, combine sugar, cornstarch, 
cinnamon and nutmeg. Heat until sauce thickens, gently stirring 
occasionaly. Add apples, then cherries. Pour mixture into a pie 
shell. Sprinkle streusel over fruit pie mixture. Bake at 425 
degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for 
20-25 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Chill in 
refrigerator- actually is better chilled.

Streusel Topping

4 tbsp. butter or margarine softened 1/2 cup unbleached flour 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats 1/3 cup packed brown sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon dash nutmeg Combine ingredients in a bowl until blended.
